Warm up your kitchen skills with this hands-on introduction to hearty soups, stews, and chowders. In this flavorful course, you'll learn the fundamentals of creating satisfying, meat-based comfort foods from scratch while exploring the building blocks that give these dishes their rich taste and texture.

Students will gain practical experience preparing a variety of soups, stews, and chowders while learning the differences between stocks and broths, the role of cream-based ingredients, and the techniques used to develop depth of flavor. Special attention will be given to the art of chowder making, from selecting ingredients to achieving the perfect consistency.

Along the way, you'll explore common thickening agents and learn when and how to use them to create delicious, well-balanced dishes. Whether you're new to cooking or looking to strengthen your foundational skills, this class will provide the knowledge and confidence to prepare comforting homemade soups and stews for any season.

Food will be provided, and classes are generally hands-on.
