Ever wonder how some businesses land media coverage while others never get a response? It’s rarely luck—it’s knowing how to tell your story in a way journalists actually want to share. Most small business owners focus on marketing, but far fewer understand how to approach media with clarity, timing, and a compelling angle. This workshop will show you how to craft a pitch, build relationships with reporters, and turn your everyday wins into newsworthy moments—so you can get your story out there before it gets overlooked.

How to Be a Good Podcast Guest

Join us for a practical one-hour virtual session designed to help entrepreneurs and small business owners find the right podcasts, land guest spots, and show up to every interview ready, confident, and memorable — no media experience required.

Podcasting has become one of the most powerful (and underused) visibility tools for small business owners. But most people don't know where to start — which shows are worth pursuing, how to pitch yourself without feeling awkward, or what actually makes a guest worth having back. In this session, Dr. Julie Marty-Pearson will walk participants through how to identify the right podcasts for their audience, craft a pitch that gets a yes, and deliver an interview that builds real credibility and connection — long after the episode drops.

Whether you've never been on a podcast or you've done a handful and want to show up stronger, this session will change how you think about podcast guesting as a growth strategy — and leave you with one concrete action you can take this week.

You'll walk away with:

  • A clear method for finding and evaluating podcasts that are the right fit for your business and your ideal audience

  • A simple pitch framework that gets responses — even if you have no audience or media credits yet

  • Techniques for telling your business story in a way that's compelling, focused, and easy for any listener to connect with
