Course Description

This series of four classes will teach people with all levels of experience how to make a quilt/blanket using old t-shirts.  Participants can make either a lap blanket using 12 t-shirts or a twin-sized blanket using 24 t-shirts.  If you have more or less t-shirts, do not worry, the instructors will show you how to make it work. Gather those old tees you have been holding onto for too long and join Chris and John who will expose you to several different versions of a t-shirt quilt.

Materials needed for class:

  • Anywhere between 12 and 24 T-shirts - more or less is fine.
  • Pellon stabilizer either 911FF or SF101.
  • 4 yards for a 48" x 60" quilt which is about 12 quilt squares or 8 yards for a 72" x 60" which is about 24 squares
  • Pins
  • Decent quality fabric scissors
  • Fleece - I highly suggest buying the No Sew Quilt kits from Joanne Fabric. You have two choices of size - 48 x 60 or 72 x 60. They have many choices to choose from and it is the most affordable way to purchase the fleece. Your other option is to bring a fleece blanket or another blanket that you already own as long as it is not crocheted.

Optional but helpful:

  • 12" x 12" quilting square
  • Iron
  • Seam Ripper
  • Rotary cutter and cutting mat
